Biography

George Williamz, also known as George William Musulira Kiberu, is a multidisciplinary musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer and media professional whose career brings together music, technology, broadcasting, entrepreneurship and creative leadership.

George's musical journey began at the age of six as an African instrumentalist and percussionist. As his musicianship developed, he performed with various professional music groups and bands, gaining valuable experience as a live musician and expanding his understanding of different musical styles and performance environments. Later, he was introduced to professional music studios and production environments, where he gained hands-on experience and developed a deeper understanding of recording, sound engineering and music production. These formative experiences laid the foundation for his lifelong career in music.

As his musical journey evolved, George expanded his musical vocabulary beyond his African roots to embrace Reggae, Afrobeat, Soul, R&B, Funk, Rock, Smooth Jazz, Salsa, Flamenco and other international styles. His ability to move comfortably between different musical traditions has become a defining characteristic of his work as an artist and producer.

At the heart of George's creative identity is “A World of Fusions” — a philosophy that reflects his belief in music as a bridge between cultures. His work brings together diverse rhythms, instruments and musical traditions while exploring themes including unity, humanity, love, faith, identity and positive social change.

His musical catalogue reflects this broad creative vision, encompassing reggae, Afrobeat, instrumental music and various fusion projects. SpanAfro, for example, brings together Spanish guitar with African and Latin rhythms, creating a distinctive cross-cultural instrumental soundscape. His work also includes songs exploring themes of unity, love, relationships and social awareness.

Professional & Educational Background

George gained a solid educational background in media, TV, film, and video production, complementing his practical experience in music and professional media environments. This education provided him with a strong foundation in visual storytelling, production workflows, media technology and creative production.

George has subsequently developed extensive professional expertise across music production, sound engineering, television, film, video production, post-production, broadcasting, transmission, media operations and information technology. His professional career has included technical, operational and management responsibilities within the media and broadcasting industry.

His experience has enabled him to work across the broader media production process; from music creation, recording and sound production through to video, post-production, broadcast transmission and digital media operations. The combination of creative knowledge, technical expertise and management experience has allowed him to operate across both the artistic and technological sides of media.

Entrepreneurship, Production & Media Ventures

George is also an entrepreneur, founder and creative business leader, having established ventures across music production, record label services, media production and digital broadcasting.

He founded GWM Media in 2005, a production and media company focused on creative production and the development and promotion of music and media projects. Through GWM Media, George has combined his experience in music, production and media to support creative work and develop opportunities for artists and other content creators.

GWM Media is also George´s own record label, extending his work beyond music creation and production into artist development and music releases. 

Another significant venture is Kyeyo Radio & KR Gospel in 2008 - 2012;  George founded these two successful online radio platforms to connect and serve the African diaspora through music, entertainment, discussion and community-focused programming. The platforms reflected his vision of using digital broadcasting to connect communities across geographical boundaries and provide a dedicated space for African voices, culture and entertainment.

One of George's notable musical initiatives is MasFusion Band (Spain - 2013), a collective bringing together musicians from different countries and cultural backgrounds. The project embodies his commitment to collaboration and experimentation, combining influences that include Funk, Soul, R&B, Rock, Reggae, Smooth Jazz, Salsa, Flamenco and African musical traditions.

Through these ventures, George has demonstrated the ability to move beyond performing and producing music into building creative platforms, developing artists, managing media projects and creating businesses around music and entertainment.
